Dark Circles Under Eyes

Dark circles under your eyes are irritating and embarrassing some time. It makes you look older than your age. To some, it's worst than having wrinkles. Here are some tips on how to remove dark circles under your eyes.

Get enough sleep.
It is not completely clear if insufficient sleep results in dark circles under the eyes but inadequate sleep can reduce circulation thus make your skin look pale, which contributes to the dark circles under your eyes. Adults are expected to have 7-9 hours sleep.

Treat a nasal congestion quickly.
One common cause is nasal congestion. When your nose gets congested, veins that usually drain from your eyes into your nose become widened and darker.

Having a balanced diet.
Insufficient antioxidants and vitamins is a major cause of dark circles. Having a balanced diet helps to get rid of dark circles. Eat lots of fruits and take vitamin supplements if you feel it's necessary. Drink plenty of fluids too to keep the body hydrated and to improve circulation..

Quit smoking.
Smoking can actually cause disrupted sleep and also make your veins more prominent and darker. It is also associated with vascular problems.

Stress is also a contributing factor.

Relaxing helps deal with stress and anxiety. Always create time to relax.

Here are some home remedies you can use.

Almond Oil. 
Almond oil is a great natural ingredient that is very beneficial for the delicate skin around your eyes. Using almond oil regularly will help fade dark circles under your eyes. The vitamin E from this oil helps neutralize dark circles under eyes and makes your skin look bright.

Before going to bed massage the skin under your eyes gently with almond oil.

Leave it on overnight.

The next morning, wash it off with cold water. Keep repeating this process until you get the desired results.

Cucumber and Potato.
Cucumber and potato slices have long been used to reduce dark circles and refresh the appearance of skin around the eyes because of it's skin lightening properties.

Cut a fresh cucumber or potato into thick slices and put in a refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Place the slices on the dark circles for about 10 minutes. Wash the area thoroughly with water. Repeat this process twice a day for one week to get the desired results.
You can also use fresh juices of potato or cucumber applying them around your eyes with a cotton ball.

Mint leaves.
When applied around your eyes freshly crushed mint leaves not only  gives you a soothing experience but also removes dark circles. These crushed mint leaves are applied and are left for 5-10 minutes and rinsed off gently with a cold cloth.

Other Home remedies you can try include:

Tea bags.
Orange juice and glycerin.
Tomato paste.
